Stained glass repairs and encapsulation

Victorian period properties often boast windows and door lights with original stained glass detail.

By stabilising the stained glass panels within a double, or triple, glazed unit, the beauty of these original features can be preserved and protected without compromise to either the energy efficiency, sound insulation or security value of the replacement product.

After carefully removing the panel from the old frame, it is re-mounted using a new border lead.

The leads are then polished and the stained glass window blown clean with high pressure air before being encapsulated into the glazing unit and hermetically sealed.

Note; these units can also be filled with inert Argon gas for greater environmental protection and higher U-values.
